Stories in every frame…

here is ours…

Twenty four years ago, two hopeful, young creatives set up shop in a small basement office in lower Manhattan.

She was born on the Lower East Side, the daughter of Chinese immigrants.

He was raised on a back-to-the-land artist community in the remote mountains of Colorado…

We couldn’t have been from more different worlds, but somehow we shared the same dreams, hopes and ideals. With a DV camera, an Avid and two clients we hit the ground running. We had some crazy ideas, like “edit suites should have windows” and “if we ever built a sound stage, it would feel like a home instead of a warehouse”. We also gave ourselves a daunting challenge. We would prioritize the well-being of our employees, our clients and our community ahead of profits. We had no idea if it could actually work.

The journey from there to now has been full of twists and turns. There have been major milestones; our first network delivery, first live broadcast, first original series. And there have been existential challenges; September 11th, The Great Recession, Covid 19. Through the ups and downs we have managed to grow our teams, expand our service offerings and work with countless wonderful clients from all corners of the world. And we have built comfortable, inviting sound stages and edit suites with windows! Today we operate a robust infrastructure in our community that supports our own productions as well as the NYC production industry at large.

Over the years, we have come to understand that what we first thought of as a challenge wasn’t a hindrance to the business at all. Putting employees, clients and community first is actually the key to sustained success. It has carried us through our darkest hours and propelled us to our greatest achievements.

And although today our clients may be more recognizable and the projects more complex, we still come to work every day and do the same thing as the day we started. We put our noses to the grindstone, figure out how to make the most of the day and keep on trying out crazy ideas. We don’t do it for the money. We do it for the love of the craft, the desire to do great work, the sheer satisfaction of a happy client and the joy of working with the greatest collection of humans on earth.

Our Values

Diversity

Community

Sustainability

As a minority, women-owned business we are mindful of putting people first in our work. Experience has shown us that the best ideas and solutions are found when people from different backgrounds, with different experiences and thought processes tackle a project together. Diversity is strength!

We have been working in lower Manhattan for over 20 years, but community is more than just where we live and work. It is the network we build with our employees, our vendors and our clients, wherever they may be. We believe that we elevate ourselves when we elevate our community.

Many of the natural systems that we depend on are at a tipping point. How our business impacts these systems is always on our minds. Environmentally responsible practices and maintaining a minimal footprint as a company takes extra work, so we strive to build it into our daily routines.

We endeavor to donate at least 10% of pre-tax profits to charity every year.

People and planet are at the heart of what we do.

We’d love to meet you!

Let’s work together to make a lasting impression with YOUR audience.
